The Community Coin of Blast

Pacmoon is not just your regular meme coin, but is known as the community coin of Blast, a Layer 2 on Ethereum.

As Lamboland, one of the founders of Pacmoon would often post.

“Create the Meta, don’t copy it”

Unlike other SocialFi and gaming coins, it’s not about spamming the ticker in posts. Pacmoon truly encourages creators to be creative when sharing content on X.

The rules are simple, create awesome content about Pacmoon, and tag Pacmoon or the $PAC ticker. If the official Pacmoon account likes the content then the creator receives points in accordance to views and impressions. Once a month Pacmoon will distribute $1M worth of $PAC to all creators that meet the requirements.

Creators can use any form of media content from writing, AI art, memes, gifs, videos, and there’s even a Pacmoon dance.

Pacmoon meme kits are also available to ease the creating process and spark inspiration.

“But isn’t Pacmoon just for big influencers?” Yes and no.

Pacmoon is for everyone, writers, traders, artists, musicians, traders, and memelords. Having a big following helps, but some creators with less than a couple thousand followers were able to outperform creators with larger followings.

Beeple showed interest in Pacmoon early on and started creating art around the meme coin.

This led to the battle of the leaderboards with Beeple and Jenn (@jenndefer) with Beeple edging over Jenn, but she did well for herself.

After the first season Beeple didn’t claim his $PAC and his share was given to creators.

Beeple was also caught on camera jokingly pushing around a 16 y/o kid about getting his $pac back. The kid was no other than Leon (@cryptoleon_xyz) an up and coming creator on X.

Seasons, Versions, and Social Validators

Pacmoon is currently in season 4 with different versions that changed the rules on point distribution. This kept growth organic and further encouraged creativity from participants.

Pacmoon V1 was simple.

Create Pacmoon content, get likes or retweets from the Pacmoon account, then get points.

Pacmoon V2 introduced social validators and disqualified spammy content that tagged and begged for likes.

Similar to Ethereum’s Proof-of-Stake, creators who hold at least 10,000 $PAC can validate other creator’s Pacmoon posts with “Likes.” Both the creator and validator receive points that count towards the leaderboard.

Social validators was an interesting concept that encouraged activity from both parties, but became limited as X started hiding “Likes.”

Pacmoon V3 honed in only on the best content by limiting its engagement to 100 tweets per day.

As for validators, Pacmoon wanted to give them more freedom and tweaked their points distribution.

· Earn 1 point per 100 $PAC held
· Like 1 tweet a day to earn maximum points
· You must hold at least 10,000 $PAC to earn

The goal of V3 is to “bring back the vibes” by allocating $PAC more effectively to authentic creators and active validators. The most valuable content and engaged holders will be rewarded more.

Only time can tell if Pacmoon can bring the vibes back into its ecosystem. With constant changes in the X algorithm and Blast incentives, it’ll be an ongoing challenge for Lamboland.

For now, we keep creating great content and keep enjoying the memes.
